Sanctions and restricted countries
Knight Wallet · Draft version 0.9 · 1 November 2026 · Awaiting lawyer review
Dyrection LLC follows the sanctions laws that apply to it, including those of the Cayman Islands (which apply United Kingdom sanctions), the United Nations, the United States (OFAC), the European Union and the United Arab Emirates. Knight is self-custody software, but we still do not offer it, or any feature that earns us a fee, to sanctioned places or people.
1. Countries and regions where Knight is not offered
Knight is not published in the app stores of these places, and its swap, trading, betting, browser and WalletConnect features are switched off when the app detects one of them:
| Place | Why |
|---|---|
| Cuba | US comprehensive embargo |
| Iran | UN, US, EU, UK sanctions; FATF call for action |
| North Korea (DPRK) | UN, US, EU, UK sanctions; FATF call for action |
| Syria | Remaining targeted US, EU and UK sanctions and export controls; kept blocked as a precaution while rules are eased |
| Russia | Wide US, EU and UK sanctions, including EU bans on crypto-asset services to Russian residents |
| Belarus | Wide US, EU and UK sanctions, including EU bans on crypto-asset services to Belarusian residents |
| Myanmar | FATF call for action; targeted sanctions |
| Crimea, and the Russian-occupied parts of the Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions of Ukraine | US, EU and UK comprehensive regional sanctions. These areas cannot be told apart by country code, so you must not use Knight there |
2. Features limited in more countries
Some features are switched off in further countries because local rules restrict them (for example perpetual futures in the United States, United Kingdom and Canada, and prediction markets in the United States, United Kingdom and France). The app shows when a feature is not available where you are. The third-party providers apply their own country lists too.
3. People and addresses
You may not use Knight if you, or anyone who owns or controls you, are on a sanctions list. Knight may refuse to prepare swaps or trades involving blockchain addresses listed by OFAC or other authorities.
4. Your promise
By using Knight you confirm that you are not in a place listed above, are not a sanctioned person, and will not use Knight to evade sanctions, for example with a VPN.
5. Updates
Sanctions change often. We review this list at least every 3 months and whenever a major change happens. Last reviewed: 1 November 2026.
